Pinarello has partnered with TQ to update its Nytro electric bike range, which now features the HPR50 motor system. The Nytro range includes an electric road bike, an electric gravel bike, and an electric hybrid bike model called the Nytro Allroad. Pinarello has created unique framesets for each model, with the Nytro and Nytro Gravel E9 and E7 models constructed using Toray T900 carbon fiber and the Nytro E5 using Toray T700 carbon fiber. The Nytro E9 is touted as the lightest mid-level assist electric road bike on the market, weighing only 11.4kg in a size 53cm.

The HPR50 motor system and battery are claimed to be one of the quietest and most compact systems on the market, with up to 50Nm of torque and up to 300W of power. This system has been increasingly used by other brands, including Trek, Scott, BMC, and Simplon. Pinarello claims the Nytro’s frameset weighs 1,130g in an unspecified size, while the Nytro Gravel’s frameset weighs 1,250g. The Nytro Road’s forks weigh 440g unpainted in an unspecified steerer length, with the Nytro Gravel forks weighing 460g.

The Nytro range retains Pinarello’s signature asymmetric design, and the Nytro can accept up to a 32mm road bike tire, whereas the Nytro Gravel has clearance for 50mm gravel bike tires. The Nytro and Nytro Gravel frames have geometries specific to their disciplines and are available in six sizes from 46 to 60cm. The Nytro is compatible with either electronic or mechanical Shimano and SRAM groupsets, but Campagnolo groupsets are not currently specced on any of the bikes.

The Nytro range includes six models, with the Nytro E9 being the most expensive at $13,000 / €13,500. The Nytro E7 is priced at £8,700 / $9,800 / €9,900, while the Nytro E5 is priced at £7,500 / $7,800 / €8,500. The Nytro Gravel E9 is priced at €13,000, while the Nytro Gravel E7 is priced at £7,900 / $8,800 / €9,000. The Nytro Gravel E5 is priced at £6,900 / $7,800 / €8,000, and the Nytro Allroad E5 is priced at $6,000 / €7,300.

Pinarello has paid particular attention to aerodynamic optimization, especially on the head tube, down tube, and stays. The Nytro features integrated cables and hoses, and the bikes come with an updated seat clamp design found on Pinarello’s F-Series and X-Series bikes. The Nytro inherits the Onda fork concept on all of its bikes, which absorbs vibrations and improves handling performance. The road fork uses a 47mm rake, while the gravel fork is 50mm.

Pinarello has always been known for its quality and attention to detail, and the updated Nytro range is no exception. The use of the HPR50 motor system and Toray carbon fiber, along with the signature asymmetric design, create a premium electric bike that is sure to turn heads on the road or the trail.
